What to Expect:
Interview Process at Lambda

While every role may have a slightly different path, the process is designed to be clear, consistent, and transparent.

Step 1: Recruiter Chat (30 minutes)

You’ll start by meeting with your recruiter to discuss your background, goals, and how they might fit at Lambda. Your recruiter will support you throughout the process, answer questions, and provide updates. If you need any accommodations, just let them know.

Step 2: Hiring Manager Interview (30–60 minutes)

You’ll meet your potential manager, dive into more specifics about the role, and discuss your professional experience. This is a chance to ask questions and learn more about the team and what they’re working on. Be prepared to talk about: projects you’re proud of, how your skills fit the role, your work style, and your day-to-day team dynamics experience.

Step 3: Technical Skills Assessment (1-2 Hours)

Depending on the role, you may complete a skills-based assessment designed to give us a sense of how you work in practice. For engineering positions, this often includes live coding, take-home assignments, debugging, or system design tasks. For other roles, the assessment may look different and focus on the core skills needed to succeed in that area.

Step 4: Panel Interviews (3–4+ hours)

This stage brings you together with team members and cross-functional partners. You can expect a mix of technical discussions, problem-solving challenges, and behavioral or culture-fit questions. We want to understand how you collaborate, how you approach challenges, and how your values align with ours. We’re looking for low-ego, resourceful hackers (in the most positive sense of the word).

Step 5: Debrief

After the interviews, our team will evaluate your performance, and your recruiter will update you within 24–48 hours. We’ll give you feedback, regardless of whether we move forward or not.

Step 6: Reference Checks & Offer

If selected, your recruiter will review the offer and guide you through the next steps. All offers are contingent on background and reference checks.
